More employee empowerment is definitely needed. A lot the employees are overwhelmed and overburdened with responsibilities and I believe that a lot of us perform very diligently despite the negative circumstances. I would be willing to bet that, at the local level, Focus employees are friendlier, more accommodating, and will better serve you than a lot of other staffing companies around. The work environment for temporary staffing is already hectic, stressful and frustrating enough; but, not having the tools necessary to be successful only adds to the frustration.

Everyone that I have had experiences with seems to be friendly and of good-nature. Many issues are brought to management though that never seem to be taken care of or resolved; even relatively minor things that would streamline day-to-day operations. More employee empowerment is definitely needed. In a sense, I often feel like upper management hinders successful operations more than helping employees be successful. A big part of this, I believe, is just due to how linearly structured the company is. The work hours and expectations are ridiculous at times and are often exacerbated by the above mentioned problems. The people are one of the more positive aspects of the company. The middle and lower management of the company is very responsive and seems to have a problem-solving attitude. At least, I know I for sure would. I also firmly believe that the business model is sound. This creates issues on many levels. For a company looking to use a temporary staffing company, this company is not your average staffing company; and, you could do a lot worse. The benefits are pretty modest at best with only paid time off and health care insurance. I would be willing to bet that, at the local level, Focus employees are friendlier, more accommodating, and will better serve you than a lot of other staffing companies around. The work environment for temporary staffing is already hectic, stressful and frustrating enough; but, not having the tools necessary to be successful only adds to the frustration. I give the company some slack because it has been rapidly expanding over the last several years; and, many companies would experience similar growing pains under such conditions. If the company was managed better to begin with, the growth would be even greater than what it already is. The wages and benefits for the company are very noncompetitive it seems. Even worse, being made promises that often have no follow through is very negative to overall moral. The biggest issues I have seems to be the unresponsiveness of the top end management. The business, from my point of view, seems to be ran from a very reactive stance as opposed to a more proactive one.
